FAQ – HMC Father Daughter Dance
Q: Do you have to be a “Father” to bring a child to the dance? No – The Adult can be any very important person in the child’s life. (examples – Father, Mother, Uncle, Grandfather, Family Friend)
Q: Does my child have to be a student at a Hampstead school (ie Hampstead Central School or Hampstead Middle School) to attend the dance? No – you do not need to attend a Hampstead school. This is a community event and all are welcome.
Q: What ages can attend the dance? All ages are invited – there are no restrictions, but the general range we see is from infant up through 8th grade. We have a DJ with music and dancing in the gym; in the cafeteria we have light refreshments, tables and photos – it’s fun and can be loud at times – if you think your child will enjoy these activities, please join us for the dance!
Q: What do the Couples wear? There’s no dress code – but most couples take it as a chance to dress up. Many girls wear dresses, and “dads” wear anything from sport-coats & ties to just a button-down shirt or collared polo. Some folks have come in costumes that complement the theme. It can get hot with all that dancing (regardless of the time of year) – so you may want to keep that in mind when dressing.
Q: How can I get tickets to the dance? We are offering tickets for presale or at the door. Hampstead Central School students will be sent an ORDER FORM in early March and can receive tickets at school. You can also buy tickets by emailing HampsteadFatherDaughterDance@hotmail.com, by contacting a Hampstead Mothers’ Club member, or you can purchase tickets the night of the dance at the door. Prices are $30 per couple, and just $2 for each additional girl. The ticket includes a professional 5×7 photo print from Clix New England (delivered apx ~3 weeks after the dance), and also includes food and beverages at the dance. We accept Cash or Check payable to “Hampstead Mothers’ Club”.
Q: Can I buy tickets at the door the night of the dance? Yes, although we do suggest trying to get tickets before the dance to avoid standing in line. We accept Cash or Check payable to “Hampstead Mothers’ Club”.
Q: Are refreshments included/do I need to bring any additional money to the dance? Refreshments and photos are included in the ticket price. Once you pay for your ticket ($30) there are no other fees or money needed.
Q: What sort of refreshments will be served? Should we eat dinner before we go? Our refreshments are light and made for snacking – so dinner beforehand is recommended. We’ll have a mix of both healthy and sweet snacks to enjoy – like cookies, cupcakes, apple slices, veggies, fruit punch and water.
Q: How do I obtain my professional photo after the dance? Clix New England expects their photo prints to be available about 3 weeks after the dance. The print will include a link to Clix website where you can see additional photos and order other prints if you like. If you child goes to a Hampstead school or daycare, the photo will be sent home with your child. If you live outside of town, we will send your photo to your mailing address.
Q: Where does the money generated by the dance go? The Hampstead Mothers Club is a non-profit organization and all proceeds from the dance go to fund projects for the children of Hampstead. We make donations to the town schools for much-needed supplies and equipment, contribute to projects like the town basketball court and library reading programs, and contribute to families in need through St. Anne’s….just to name a few. Thank you for supporting us as we help support Hampstead Kids!
